UCLA Health LVN Supervisor, Pediatrics - Santa Monica Pediatric Specialty in Santa Monica, California

We are seeking an enthusiastic LVN Supervisor to oversee nursing and clinical services at our Pediatric Specialty Care clinic in Santa Monica. This role offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care, clinic administration, and lead a team of nursing staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directly support the care of allergy patients by administering immunotherapy injections, skin prick tests, and other procedures, at the direction and oversight of the Allergy attending

  • Ensure quality patient care and service, assisting staff and patients with escalated issues

  • Supervise clinic nursing staff, including conducting performance evaluations, maintaining staff competencies, approving timesheets, and providing training for new and existing staff

  • Plan and adjust staffing schedules daily to maintain optimal operation

  • Maintain inventory, ensuring the practice is well-equipped for patient care

  • Manage the Quality Assurance process, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements

Salary Range: $34.24-74.19 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with IV and blood withdrawal certification.

  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

  • EKG certification.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Working knowledge of human resources management policies with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.

  • Clinical knowledge to effectively supervise LVNs. Skills to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic, center, or practice.

  • Strong knowledge of LVN patient care standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations and internal policies.

  • Skills in interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in nursing units or departments.

  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.

  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.

  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.

  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life-threatening medical problems.
