Aerotek Welder/Fabricator in San Francisco, California
Description:
Welding, fabricating, and fusing various types of metal including stainless steel and aluminum.
Welding both small and big parts.
Reading and understand blueprints, work orders, and weld call outs.
Measure and inspect parts and materials.
Understanding material heat reactions.
Grind, debur, polish parts as needed.
Check and straighten parts when needed.
Prep all weld joints.
Drill and tap with drill fixtures when required.
Insure quality meets company and customer standards .
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Help with mechanical builds and warehouse functions as needed
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience/proficiency MIG welding both aluminum and steel is required, TIG welding experience is a plus.
AWS D1.1 welding certification is a plus and will be required within 90 days from date of hire.
Must be proficient in using basic fabrication shop equipment such as drill, drill press, table saw, panel saw, band saw, chop saw, router, bender, roller and reading a tape measure.
Familiarity with hand operated Bridgeport mill is a plus.
Be able to read and follow written plans and instructions.
Precision and detail oriented.
Enjoy learning new skills and taking on new challenges.
Good verbal/written communication and trouble shooting skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Job requires frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, standing for extended periods and lifting 40+ lbs.
Able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
Willing to work in other areas of the shop if metal work is ever slow
Any experience with electrical wiring: both AC and DC, a plus but not required.
Must have clean DMV, reliable transportation to work and consistently show up on time.
