Our partner is a leader global pharmaceutical company known for their expertise in developing and manufacturing top-quality pharmaceutical drugs, life-saving vaccines, and innovative animal-health products, is seeking an outstanding Associate Research Scientist. This individual will be a part of their Molecular Profiling group, working on gene expression profiling using targeted and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. The work supports basic research, preclinical and development activities, and translational biomarker projects.
Pay Rate: 60/hr-70/hr
Responsibilities:
Isolate RNA/DNA from various tissues and cells (human, non-human primate, rodent).
Perform targeted gene expression profiling using NanoString and RT-qPCR systems.
Prepare and quality control libraries for NGS platforms.
Conduct NGS sequencing with Illumina MiSeq and NovaSeq.
Present data and results.
Required Experience and Skills:
B.S/B.A with 5+ years, M.S. with 3+ years, or Ph.D. with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Proficient in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
Experience with RNA/DNA quality control platforms (Fragment Analyzer, Agilent Bioanalyzer, Tapestation).
Skilled in RT-qPCR methods and platforms.
Familiarity with NGS platforms (Illumina MiSeq, NovaSeq).
Ability to develop and troubleshoot new NGS protocols.
Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience with liquid automation for RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
Familiarity with multi-omics NGS platforms, low sorted cell populations, and single-cell RNA sequencing.
Knowledge of NGS data visualization software (Cell Ranger, BioTuring).
Proficiency with software such as Illumina BaseSpace, Omicsoft, TIBCO Spotfire, Graphpad Prism, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, and Geneious.
