Amazon Marketing Analyst, Global Campaigns & Virtual Programs in San Francisco, California

We centrally develop lead generation, adoption, and engagement campaigns and collaborate with our regional marketing teams to deploy these campaigns globally.

Critical to our success is developing a deep understanding of each campaign's performance. This is where YOU come in! As a Marketing Analyst, you will build and maintain interactive dashboards; prepare data and ensure data hygiene; create various types of visualizations such as charts, graphs, and tables to represent the data; and conduct regular testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of the dashboards’ data and functionality. You will regularly meet with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs, address their feedback, and facilitate data-based discussions regarding the performance of a campaign or asset.

Key job responsibilities

  • Dashboard Design & Development: Build and maintain interactive dashboards with drilldown capabilities, filters, parameters, to enable users to explore the data dynamically.

  • Data Visualization: Use our reporting software’s features to create various types of visualizations such as charts, graphs, and tables to represent the data. Build dashboards that are visually appealing and intuitive, effectively communicating insights from the data.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, data analysts, and other team members to gather requirements, iterate on designs, and incorporate feedback into dashboards.

  • Performance Optimization: Optimize dashboard performance to reduce load times and improve responsiveness to users.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of the dashboard’s data and functionality.

  • Documentation: Document the dashboard design, data sources, and any relevant processes to facilitate maintenance and future enhancements.

  • Data Analysis: Work with campaign managers to analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations for future optimization and allocation of resources.

  • Data Preparation: Clean, transform, and prepare the data for visualization to ensure accuracy and relevance.

  • Implement tagging protocols: Manage asset tagging and naming conventions to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting. Review current procedure to identify improvement opportunities.

Your core mission? Transforming data into compelling visual stories driving our marketing machine. You'll architect sleek, interactive dashboards that unlock campaign insights to optimize performance. From brainstorming intuitive designs to enhancing usability and speed, your ability to understand data structures and create insightful visualizations will be pivotal. Expect a mix of granular analyses and spearheading new dashboard builds as we strive to continually raise the reporting bar. Effective communication will be key as you partner with stakeholders of various backgrounds and skillsets, like data engineers, campaign managers, and field marketers. Ultimately, your work empowers data-driven decision-making marketing-wide.

About the team

In collaboration with key partners, the Global Campaigns organization develops programs to promote AWS priority solution themes and services. The lead generation, adoption and engagement campaigns are developed centrally and deployed globally.

This role sits within our Global Campaigns' Strategy and Ops team, which is responsible for providing platform services and guidance that enable the broader GCVP team to achieve its goals. In other words, we’re the engine that enables GCVP to run efficiently.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • 5+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience

  • Experience with SQL

  • 3+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the technology sector

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience

  • Experience in Tableau required, Quicksight preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
