Meta Manager - Pro-active Detection, Global Response Operations in San Francisco, California

Summary:

Meta is looking for an experienced leader to join the Global Response Operations Detection team (GRO Detection).As a Manager on the GRO Detection team, you will be responsible for managing a team of detection analysts, focused on identifying emerging on-platform issues that pose harm to individuals, communities and businesses on our platform and helping mitigate those by working cross functionally. Our team accomplishes this by developing signals for detection, running deep content and behavioral investigations, and driving prioritized enforcement. As a new team we are looking for strategic and entrepreneurial leader to help innovate and execute in this new and dynamic space, incorporating and leveraging technology.About the team:Global Response Operations is an organization within Global Operations that responds to real-time crises, proactively identifies and evaluates emerging issues, conducts risk-related investigations, and assesses what we could be doing to best benefit our community. By understanding and consistently managing events and real-time crises to resolution, the organization drives continuous improvement with our partners across Meta.The Detection team within Global Response Operations is focused on building and executing detection strategies to identify emerging issues early and facilitate comprehensive mitigation. We partner closely with other Global Response Operations teams, Policy, Product and Process teams to mitigate those issues.

Required Skills:

Manager - Pro-active Detection, Global Response Operations Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of Detection Analysts to drive and execute detection strategy across our prioritized problems

  2. Build strong, collaborative cross-functional relationships with GRO, Broader GO teams, Product, Policy, Legal, Global Response among others

  3. Participate in team and org strategy building to ensure agility in team to help meet the changing needs of the org, company and community, while driving stability in the team to achieve the long term vision

  4. Identify and initiate new opportunities for new projects or focus areas for both GRO and the detection team, as well as innovate collaboratively on solutions

  5. Develop an ongoing understanding of the company wide detection ecosystem to partner with and influence stakeholders to help solve the highest priority issues for Meta and its communities

  6. Attract, build, manage and develop a talented, diverse, equitable and inclusive team

  7. Ability to work with potentially graphic and objectionable content

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of experience in operations, intelligence, Trust & Safety, project management, building out technology solutions or related functions

  2. 5+ years of people management experience

  3. Experience prioritizing and ensuring that key initiatives move forward, managing multiple cross functional stakeholders and working with urgency

  4. Executive presence and effective communication skills Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience

  5. Demonstrated skill to work in ambiguous environments and create solutions to complex problems

  6. A proven team player adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and with experience building new teams

  7. Experience communicating complex or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

  8. Proven leader managing remote and distributed teams with experience growing new teams

Public Compensation:

$173,000/year to $247,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
