Key Responsibilities as Assistant Controller:
Oversee month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and third-party accounting.
Lead quarter-end close and financial statement preparation according to NCREIF and GAAP standards.
Conduct cash analysis for investment vehicles.
Approve payables and manage expenditure workflow through NEXUS, Paymode-X/Kyriba, and MRI systems.
Respond to internal and external inquiries.
Consolidate and reconcile investment accounts for various funds, separate accounts, joint ventures, and co-investments.
Oversee the preparation of monthly reports for investment vehicles.
Coordinate quarterly investor reporting packages and manage REIT maintenance tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Over 5 years of accounting experience in real estate, private equity, or financial services.
Essential familiarity with partnership/fund accounting concepts.
Ability to assess and apply accounting standards to significant transactions.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive team environment.
Highly organized, flexible, and diligent in follow-up tasks.
Preferred experience with MRI and Juniper Square.
