Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the overall accounting functions within the organization. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in core accounting principles, has a strong understanding of financial reporting, and is motivated to contribute to the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate account reconciliations.

  • Process and monitor accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Assist with financial reporting, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budget reviews, and variance analysis.

  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support audit processes and ensure compliance.

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory reporting and procedures.

  • Prepare reports and assist in budget management to support decision-making across departments.

  • Work effectively across teams to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

  • Utilize advanced Excel skills and ERP software tools to manage and analyze financial data.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA certification (or actively pursuing) is strongly preferred.

  • 1-3+ years of accounting experience in a similar role, with an emphasis on financial reporting and reconciliations.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros).

  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles, compliance standards, and internal controls.

  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a collaborative work environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing error-free work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in industries like financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, or nonprofit is highly desirable.

  • Working knowledge of compliance reporting requirements and financial analysis tools.

  • Advanced certifications (e.g., MBA) or expertise in specialized areas like AI-based accounting workflows is a plus.
