Description

A RF Test Tuner Technician 2 is an entry level position with no to limited experience in pre-tuning of RF Microwave filters. The RF Tuner Technician 2 will focus in the area of microwave circuit test, learning to perform the set-up, calibration, tuning, and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary work load consists of tuning microwave band pass, low pass, highpass, and Bandreject filters in a production scheduled atmosphere with a variety of different technologies and transform functions.

  • Interpret and match example plots to insure compliance with an electrical tuning sheet guide.

  • Learn and use IMC proprietary Automatic test station software to analyze and record performance for every production filter.

  • Learn to calibrate network analyzers with calibration kits, attaching fixtures, cables, attenuation pads as needed for the different filter configurations as required.

  • Learn to identify IMC’s unique filter structures topologies and technologies as needed to complete the current task that is assigned and then properly configure the network analyzers as instructed to accommodate the tuning of the different requirements which may include temperature testing.

  • Learn to operate and program temperature chambers.

  • Follow and support all safety practices by wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and complying with safety signs and placards, maintaining good housekeeping, communicating unsafe practices and conditions to your local or PD EHS teams, and reporting all safety incidents (including near misses) as they occur.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 0 -2 years of experience with tuning at least one of the following topologies being Band pass, Lowpass, High pass, couplers, Elliptic, Pseudo elliptic or Delay and Amplitude equalizers.

  • 0-2 years of experience with tuning in at least one of a variety of different technologies including coaxial ceramic, ceramic puck Tm mode, Discrete lumped element, Distributed Combline or Interdigital, cavity Tm mode, waveguide of suspended substrate micro strip or strip line or Tubular filters.

  • Ability to tune ceramic filters.

  • Ability to shift focus between data screens and manual work.

  • Ability to communicate and Interface with Engineers, Technician lead, Production Supervisor, etc.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Accurate fine motor skills and ability to work under a microscope for 8 hours.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

  • Able to take direction and work relatively independently.

  • Team player.

  • Working knowledge of and experience with primarily a Network or Vector analyzer.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting hourly pay for this role is targeted to be between $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
