We are currently hiring Residential Lead{rel="noopener" target="_blank"} to join our team. You and your team provide care and training to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting - helping with dressing, bathing, cooking food, and transport to their daily activities, teaching them to adopt new skills and improve their independence. Together, you will also go on recreational outings, enjoying life out and about in the community. As the lead, you will assist the supervisor with the daily operations of the house and provide direction, training and support to the other residential specialists.

The pay range for this position is $19.00/h - $19.50/h + a hiring bonus of $1,500. We have multiple locations throughout San Diego County and the schedules could vary by location.

A typical day will include:

Providing culturally appropriate direct support to individuals using person-centered approaches and strategies including:

  • Support and motivation to reach individual goals and objectives
  • Engage and facilitate meaningful activities that cater to the person's individual interest, preferences, and choices; teaching as necessary
  • Assists daily living skills including in the areas of grooming, hygiene, toileting, feeding and mobility
  • Provides medications as necessary
  • Completion of electronic documentation prior to end of shifts
  • Assisting in the development of, and independently implementing, Individual Support Plans designed to enhance personal growth and independence for program participants
  • Preparing Therap audit reports; assessing behaviors and tracking supports

What you'll need to be successful:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must meet, at minimum, one of the following criteria:
  1. Possession of a valid vocational nurse or psychiatric technician license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
  2. Completion of at least 30 college or university units in education, social services, behavioral sciences, health sciences, or related fields, AND six (6) months experience providing direct support to developmentally disabled persons.
  3. Eighteen (18) months experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled person under the supervision of a qualified intellectual disability professional (QIDP) .
  • Valid CA Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Comfort driving a full size van with multiple passengers
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs
  • Have experience with electronic case management systems (Therap)
  • Have experience with individual service plans (goal development)
