Manager, Market Development

This an onsite position located in Carlsbad, CA.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with the Director of Innovation Partnerships and cross-functional business partners to identify and pursue strategic external innovation opportunities

  • Prospect, evaluate, and prioritize external partnership opportunities, drive cradle-to-grave deal evolution

  • Drive consensus at the business and executive levels to support product development and critical initiatives

  • Expand the menu of assays offered on key diagnostic platforms through the identification of external innovation sources

  • Develop internal and external KOL networks and champion collaborative alliances

  • Lead negotiator for in-licensing and collaboration deals

  • Build and implement a comprehensive transactional strategy

  • Facilitate divisional awareness and response to emerging innovations in business methodology and technological trends

  • Work with uncertainty, ambiguity and complexity in a constantly evolving environment

  • Inform and educate other groups within the company on Innovation Partnership's value proposition

  • Be the Thermo Fisher brand ambassador and ensure that Thermo Fisher continues to be the partner of choice for external innovation in a source agnostic manner

  • Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time

What You'll Need:

  • A Ph.D. with proven experience in relevant fields required.

  • 3+ years of experience leading business partnering deals with a deep understanding of transaction structures and negotiation strategies

  • Superb written and verbal communication abilities

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Willingness to travel around 10-15% of the time

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
