SCHEDULE: Full-Time

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Lead Bartender directs daily bar operations and delegates responsibilities to team members. They maintain established operating procedures and implements efforts to continuously improve operations to drive increased revenue and customer experience. Acting as a role model, they partner with the Assistant General Manager to lead all team members in the quest to provide the highest level of guest services while creating a positive environment for patrons and fellow employees. This position works under the direction of the Bar Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, preparing them efficiently, and building a rapport with clientele.

  • Handle card and cash transactions, ensuring that all funds in the cash drawer are accounted for at the end of the shift.

  • Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop-off receipts, and secure bank.

  • Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately.

  • Identify customer issues, and work with management when needed to resolve promptly while maintaining a safe and positive environment.

  • Lead bartending staff training, day to day operations, and quality of staff performance to ensure top customer service to all guests.

  • Unpack deliveries and stock bar. Change beer kegs.

  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training bartending staff.

  • Display genuine enthusiasm for the brand, products and company mission.

  • Provide constructive feedback (including positive and opportunities for development) on staff performance.

  • Work with the BOH to bring in local ingredients for cocktail development.

  • Responsible for bar orders such as beer, liquor, produce, and inventory.

  • Assist with staff communication on any bar changes.

  • Assist in the development and execution of SOP’s for the bar program.

  • Submit menu edits to management and communicate those edits to team.

  • Fulfill any marketing requests such as beverage requests for photos, recipes, etc.

  • Assign and ensure that all opening and closing tasks are completed daily.

  • Manage the bar shifts including breaks, labor management, side-work assignment, cleaning, etc.

  • Responsible for monthly inventory through BevSpot as well as regular tracking of all other bar needs such as bar cocktail napkins, equipment, etc.

  • Do regular checks on the bar for maintenance needs and notify management.

  • Respond to emergency situations appropriately when there is not a present manager on duty.

  • Send a daily re-cap to the AGM/GM at the end of the shift.

  • Assist with bar scheduling needs.

  • Meet regularly with the AGM to present ideas and solutions for the Tasting Room.

  • Assist with issues on the floor when needed.

  • Adheres to comping procedures and rectifies guest situations, when needed.

  • Embraces and fulfills the core values and culture of Cutwater Spirits.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two or more years of cocktail-heavy bartending experience required.

  • Prior leadership experience (preferred).
