job summary:
We are looking for a Quality Engineer Analyst for a client of ours located in San Antonio, TX. This role is contract to hire and does require you to live in San Antonio.
Qualifications we are seeking are as followings:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
4+ years of Software Quality Engineering or other relevant IT industry or banking experience
Would like to see some automation testing even though this is primarily manual testing
Expertise in software testing methodologies including test planning, test execution, gap analysis, requirements traceability, and defect management
Experience leading project teams, developing project estimates and timelines, and implementing strategies to overcome project constraints
Experience with one or more functional/regression testing tools
Understanding of quality assurance as part of the development process
Additional Preferred Skills:
Project Management experience
Financial industry experience
Exposure to test automation tools/execution

responsibilities:
Define testing plans, identify gaps in requirements, and propose testing hypotheses for complex program/system changes
Use your strong problem-solving skills to ensure that the systems are performing optimally and meet our high standards.
Perform a risk assessment on programs/system changes to prioritize related programs/systems on which to run batch testing
Write functional test cases, automation test scripts along with preparation of required test data
Execute tests and validate results to determine which issues need to be addressed by the development team
Communicate how and why issues need to be fixed, and coordinate across multiple development teams to fix complex issues
