Job Title: F18 General Aircraft Mechanic

Job Description

Perform maintenance operations on aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other directives in support of aircraft modification. Perform other Airframe & Powerplant repairs, which may include Fuel Cell work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance operations on aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems.

  • Conduct Airframe & Powerplant repairs, which may include Fuel Cell work.

  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, and test procedures.

  • Set up and use pneumatic tools such as screw guns and torque wrenches.

  • Use common hand tools such as wrenches and safety wire pliers.

  • Remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds using mechanical fasteners.

  • Handle aircraft components and assemblies, including air-frame and power-plant.

  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing with employees, supervision, and others as required.

  • Document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests.

  • Perform duties while wearing required safety equipment.

  • Work all shifts and in various environmental conditions without encumbrances.

  • Order parts, tools, materials, and equipment as needed.

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, tool control, contracts, facilities, and other pertinent rules.

  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervision and management.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in aircraft maintenance, depot level repair, and overhaul.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, and technical manuals.

  • Experience setting up and using pneumatic tools such as screw guns and torque wrenches.

  • Skill in using common hand tools like wrenches and safety wire pliers.

  • Familiarity with large aircraft and components such as air-frame and power-plant.

  • Capability to remove, replace, and check out aircraft components and assemblies.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to clearly document maintenance and repair actions.

  • Compliance with safety requirements and ability to work all shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Airframe & Powerplant repairs, including Fuel Cell work.

  • Ability to handle various environmental conditions and work locations.

  • Willingness to order parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required.

  • Commitment to following health and safety regulations.

Work Environment

Work in a military hangar with an open-bay, non-climate controlled environment. Shifts are 1st Shift: M-F 5:30am-2:30pm and 2nd Shift: M-F 2pm-10:30pm. Must be open to working any shift. Employees will be able to expense $100 per year for steel-toed shoes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
