PARKLAND (U.S.) PEOPLE Warehouse Technician in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Position Title: Warehouse Technician

*Team and Location: *Rhinehart Oil - Salt Lake City, Utah

Compensation: $20 an hour

*Position Summary: *

The Warehouse Technician is responsible for maintaining required inventory levels ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct; verifying stock and identifying losses; maintaining an organized warehouse layout; processes purchase orders; load outgoing freight; unload incoming freight; maintains records; and manages all returns. Position requires work inside as well as outside, including working in inclement weather.

Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operates warehouse equipment (e.g. forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.) for the purpose of moving large and heavy items safely and effectively
  • Ensure customer orders are correct and assists customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintains a viable relationship with truck drivers and customers to ensure needs are met at all times.
  • Reports problems to supervisor in a timely and accurate manner and follow-up to ensure problem resolutions.
  • Maintains, labels and organizes warehouse and products in accordance with Distributor Product Integrity Manual (DPIM)rules and regulations for filling and sampling products.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and products.
  • Maintains quantities of bulk oil and notifying supervisor of any discrepancies. 
  • Assisting with inventory when needed
  • Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport, including package or bulk conveyance, protecting the product integrity and minimizing the risk for spills. Utilizes BOL (Bill of Lading) to fill customer orders and updates BOL according to actual inventory i.e. shortage, add on to return to the office for processing.
  • Safely lifts, pushes, pulls, and lowers up to 450 lbs. barrels of lubricants numerous times daily.
  • Provides accurate accident, safety and various other related reporting as required.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
  • Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Rhinehart Oil's policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained.
  • Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Employee is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to Parkland USA. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
  • Must meet performance expectations and complete all duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability and willingness to use safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear plugs
  • 2+ years' experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accura cy
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Must be able to obtain Forklift certification with 3 months
  • Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations

     

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor environment (extreme  hot/cold temperatures, wind, sun exposure, precipitation, etc.)
  • Shop/warehouse environment (loud sounds, extreme temperatures, strong smells, etc.)
  • Exposure to chemicals, fuel, fumes, and/or bulk lubricants
