Job Summary

Do you thrive on automating complex tasks and streamlining IT processes? Are you a skilled troubleshooter with a passion for building efficient systems? If so, we want you on our team! We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer with a strong foundation in scripting and automation to join our growing team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to design, develop, and implement automated solutions that enhance system performance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scripts (Python, PowerShell, etc.) to automate repetitive system administration tasks, improving efficiency and reducing human error.

  • Automate system provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment processes.

  • Integrate automation with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef) for consistent system configurations.

  • Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts to ensure smooth operation and identify areas for improvement.

  • Monitor and analyze automation logs to identify potential issues and optimize script performance.

  • Continuously evaluate existing automation processes and identify opportunities for further automation.

Core Systems Engineering Tasks:

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network infrastructure.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues within systems and applications.

  • Perform system performance monitoring and capacity planning to ensure optimal operation.

  • Implement system updates, patches, and security measures to safeguard systems.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams (development, security) to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver solutions.

  • Document system configurations, procedures, and automation scripts for future reference and knowledge transfer.

Additional Skills to Highlight:

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automated infrastructure provisioning.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms ( AWS , Azure, GCP ) for managing and automating cloud resources.

  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices for streamlined software delivery processes.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify root causes of system issues.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
