Fillauer Composites is hiring a Composite Technician in Salt Lake City, Utah.  We build prosthetics and orthotics.  We train so no experience is necessary. The technician is accountable for the beginning stages of creating the prosthetics using a "lay-up" method using carbon fiber sheets. This position plays a critical role in the success of our company providing components that meet our quality standards and commitment to our overall business goals.

Your Impact

Apply multiple layers of material/fiber to surfaces assuring adhesion and repeating the process until the desired thickness, contour, and strength is achieved * Fit and smooth successive layers of materials in the proper orientation as necessary to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, contaminations, and voids * Work from work orders, specifications, and written instructions to lay-up composites * Use basic composite bagging procedures to complete the lay-up process * If required, load and cure composite components in the press load or autoclave * Monitors and verifies the quality of finished product * Document work according to manufacturing order process * Promote safe work area and general shop safety

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Comfortable using power tools and standard shop equipment
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed work instructions and prints
  • Self-motivation and inclination to take ownership of job duties
  • Adhere to company policies and safety procedures
  • Perform basic math functions to include addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
  • Basic computer skills; open and find data in simple applications Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of lifting loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted Preferred Qualifications:
  • English/Spanish is a plus
