Automation Engineering Intern
Ultradent is seeking an engineering student passionate about programming, robotics, machining, and electrical and/or mechanical design to join our dynamic team as an Automation Engineering Intern. Ideally, we are looking for students in their first to third year of their program who are eager to contribute to the growth and innovation of our engineering and machining departments. This challenging yet rewarding position offers continuous learning opportunities, and we welcome candidates who may not possess all the required skills initially, as we are committed to supporting your development. Work hours can be flexible to accommodate your academic schedule.

How We Support Your Development: As an intern, you will collaborate with our experienced, multi-disciplinary engineering team, gaining valuable insights and honing various skills. Here is what you can expect to learn with us:
Engineering Fundamentals: Strengthen your foundational engineering skills as you apply them in a real-world setting.
3D Modeling: Master Solidworks to create robust and efficient models.
Design for Machinability: Learn to design parts for quick, precise, and cost-effective machining.
Programming: Apply programming practices, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Test-Driven Software Development (TDD).
Machining: Acquire fundamental machining skills and operational knowledge of machinery.
Automation: Explore the electrical, mechanical, and control-system elements used in building automated equipment. Apply programming and design skills to bring hardware to life.
Project Management: Develop skills in managing creative, iterative projects.
Teamwork: Learn effective collaboration within a team to achieve collective goals.
Prototyping: Utilize our well-equipped lab, featuring assembly and cutting equipment, CNC machining, and 3D printing services, to quickly find solutions.
Statistics: Apply statistical methods to gain insights that are not easily visible.
Systems Thinking: Develop a holistic perspective on complex systems and enhance your ability to design and improve them.
