Job description
The Early Childhood Center is looking for a positive, open-minded individual to work in our NAEYC-accredited toddler program for the 2024-2025 school year. We are seeking an individual who will love our littlest learners and who treat toddlers like the curious and competent individuals that they are.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, facilitate, and clean up for playtime and projects
- Participate in planning and implementation of emergent curriculum (based on children's interests)
- Record observations and communicate developmental information to parents and other teachers
- Maintain records on individual children including daily observations, activities, and meals served
- Maintain a clean and safe environment (including cleaning and sterilizing toys)
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of childhood development and early education principles
- Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior and promote positive interactions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and flexibility in working with young children
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least one year of related experience, paid or volunteer
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary (can get this after hire date)
- Must pass criminal background check
Physical Requirements
- Be able to sit on the floor/ground for an extended period of time
- Be able to stand for an extended period of time
- Be able to spend time indoors and outdoors, even in hot / cold weather
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
