Oregon Lottery Security Specialist 2 in Salem, Oregon

The Oregon Lottery is looking for a Security Specialist II to join the team on site in Salem and Wilsonville, OR to keep our building, employees, and players safe.

The Oregon Lottery is a leader in the gaming industry and an important contributor of revenue for the state's schools, economic development, parks, watershed restoration, veteran's programs, and outdoor schools.

About The Role:

You will report to the Senior Manager, Security and provide the safety and security of all Lottery personnel and facilities, including crisis response and emergency preparedness. You will develop security and gaming integrity measures, contribute to security features, and help with the design of new tickets.

Security Specialist IIs use the lab to test security features/prototypes and review sample tickets from other lotteries to evaluate different approaches to security. You will also maintain alarm and access systems for the Lottery and ensure gaming activities, products, and promotions are conducted safely.

You Will:

  • Apply Lottery Management Core Values and Expectations in performing daily activities. Ensure conduct embodies the principles of fairness, integrity, security, and honesty. Support and integrate into their work the Lottery’s commitment to: Responsible Gambling, DEIB, and a Culture of Safety

  • Process high tier winners following Multi State Lottery requirements by using several ticket databases, creating CDs with required information, and conducting player interviews.

  • Provide security protection in the event of potentially volatile players, altered ticket issues or issues involving holding winnings due to back child support, DHS over payments.

  • Use conflict resolution skills to avoid situations.

  • Interpret artwork for security flaws to perform working paper reviews and ticket reconstructions.

  • Perform out-of-state ticket manufacturer inspections/audits either independently or as a team.

  • Perform analysis of altered tickets and cash slip using handwriting analysis techniques, interrogation skills, and Video Spectral Comparator.

  • Maintain physical locks/keys, door access systems, and databases responsible for controlling all automatic locking systems for all Lottery facilities.

  • Maintain alarms systems and set up different types of hardware including cameras, television monitors and PCs.

  • Oversee and evaluate emergency training drills to support crisis management, emergency response and Business Continuation Plan (BCP).

  • Write agency wide procedures and tactical responses on an a variety of disaster and emergency scenarios.

You Have:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of security experience;OR

  • Six (6) years of security experience.

Licenses or Certifications

  • Valid driver's license in their state of residence and a clean driving record. Driving is an essential function of this position.

  • Hold or able to obtain a CJIS Clearance within the first 6 months of employment.
