Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our Supplier Quality team located in Minneapolis, MN.

This will be an opportunity to join the dynamic and unique team responsible for executing prevention techniques to enable increased performance across our supply base. The supplier Quality organization is responsible for oversight of the suppliers QMS and managing product quality improvement plans.

This position is located in the Minneapolis area, providing frequent support to local suppliers. This position also requires the ability to travel outside of the local region approximately 1-3 days a month. This is a hybrid position and candidate must have the ability to work from home or a supplier location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products.

  • Documents and reports audit and assessment results

  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

  • Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements.

  • Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.

  • Performs RCCA and analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Project manager for suppliers' quality performance and improvement plans

  • Provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.

  • Implements and conducts prevention and predictive techniques to improve quality performance

  • Maintains and builds supplier relationships to enable and drive a partnership

  • Resolves routine issues and concerns.

  • Works under general supervision.

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry or other technical degree

  • 1+ year of experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

  • 1+ year of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience with project leadership leading cross-functional teams

  • 1+ year of experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 2:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level (Level 2): USD 78,200 – 105,800

Summary pay range for mid-level (Level 3): USD 94,350 – 127,650
