Robert Half Public Senior Accountant in Saint Louis, Missouri
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Public Senior Accountant in the retail industry, based in SAINT LOUIS, Missouri. This role entails managing and maintaining key accounting functions, thereby playing a crucial role in the financial stability of the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage daily accounting functions such as bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites to streamline accounting processes and enhance productivity.
• Regularly audit financial data for accuracy and integrity, ensuring all data aligns with financial regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial reports accurately reflect the company's financial status.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
• Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with standard accounting practices and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies to prevent financial discrepancies.
• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide critical accounting inputs for business strategies and decisions.
• Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections. Requirements • Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites.
• Experience in executing various accounting functions is required.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and monthly bank reconciliation is necessary.
• Should have knowledge and experience in cash forecasting.
• A background in retail industry is preferred.
• Must have strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
• Should have a proven ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Must be able to maintain professionalism and a positive service attitude at all times.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
