Irrigation Technicians - 35 fulltime, temporary, seasonal (H-2B) jobs available 4/1/24 - 12/31/24.
Employer: Summerhill Landscapes Inc., 6 Shaw Road, Sag Harbor, NY 11963.
Duties: Open, close, repair, adjust and install irrigation systems at residential properties of company clients. Specific duties: Monitor and adjust lawn rotaries, sprays and drip irrigation for plant material. Inspect pipe, fittings and valve operation and placement; perform basic maintenance when needed. Adjust water levels to ensure appropriate water requirements of lawn areas and ornamental plants are met and to ensure efficient water usage. Inspect and test irrigation systems in the Spring prior to start-up; monitor throughout the season and winterize at the end of the season. Work performed at various sites in Suffolk and Nassau Counties.
Employer will provide transportation to/from various work sites in Suffolk and Nassau Counties, from the designated pick up spot: 6 Shaw Road, Sag Harbor, NY 11963.
No experience or education required. Employer will provide on-the-job training.
Work hours: Wed-Sun, 7am-4pm; 40 hours/week at $20.81-$26/hour. Possible overtime at $31.22-$39/hour. Overtime and bonus offered at employer's discretion.
A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.
Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $15.46/day without receipts or up to $59/day with receipts.
