DEPARTMENT OF PESTICIDE REGULATION Scientific Aid in Sacramento, California

Under the direct supervision of the DPR Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) in the Enforcement Headquarters Branch - Licensing and Certification Program, the incumbent will perform a full range of tasks focusing on collecting, reviewing, and tracking information, and accurately entering, retrieving, and processing data related to licensing, certification, and continuing education. Use of scientific knowledge to assist with revising licensing examinations and study materials; reviewing and auditing continuing education courses; processing continuing education record information; developing outreach materials and correspondence; assisting with updating information to be posted on the Department website; and organizing and processing examination and license renewal information. Office duties will include processing applications and mail, returning phone calls and emails, data entry, and filing.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Incumbent must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and travel independently or with a group throughout California (including flying or driving).

NOTE: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position's designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.

The Licensing and Certification Program at DPR has a need for two Scientific Aids who would be a resource for licensing related continuing education review, processing of data related to licensing and certification issuance and renewal, and developing examination and outreach materials. Office duties will include processing applications and mail, returning phone calls and emails, data entry, and filing. The office location for this position will be located at the Bradshaw Regional Office near Rancho Cordova.
