Responsibilities
Manager Clinical Pharmacy facilitates the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug therapies. This position serves as a professional practice leader, educator, and mentor and has an advanced practice role functioning as a clinical specialist both within the pharmacy and within interdisciplinary teams. This position will play a key role in managing operations, logistics, finance, safety, and risk management for the pharmacy department
Subject matter expert and responsible for all the day-to-day activities of a clinical pharmacist
Responsible for developing competencies of their respective clinical teams and enhancing the clinical programs to care for patients at their facility
Must have training in: clinical protocols/guidelines, applicable EHR utilization, on-line drug information resources, parenteral nutrition, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation, pharmacy automation, and computer applications
Knowledge of pharmaceutical preparations; drug therapy review and evaluation; drug information sources, retrieval and interpretation; medication use evaluation; use of evidence-based protocols; adverse drug reaction reporting and evaluation; disease state management; and formulary management relative to all patient age groups served at the facility
The Pharmacy Clinical Manager must demonstrate the ability to precept residents’ learning experiences
Qualifications
Required:
B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required
Minimum of 2 years of recent pharmacy (or similar) work experience
Registered Pharmacist in state of CA
Licensure:
- Registered Pharmacist license in state of CA. Oversight for an acute care facility requires licensure in the state in which you practice.
Preferred:
Minimum of 1 year in a leadership position or pharmacy residency completed or supplemental Masters Degree (MBA, MS, MHA, etc)
Membership in the ASHP, ASCP, WSSHP, APHA and/or other professional associations is desirable
Pay Range
$72.03 - $104.45 /hour
