California Dental Association Account Manager Advisor in Sacramento, California

This is a remote position. Preference for candidates in the Pacific Northwest. 

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

Job Purpose    

The Account Manager Advisor supports our CDA members and all insurance policyholders by assessing insurance needs and making recommendations for products, bundles and coverages.  This position is regarded as having high levels of product knowledge and delivering valuable expertise and recommendations based on client needs.

     Essential Functions – must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation  

  • Responds to telephone calls and written requests regarding coverage questions, premiums, eligibility, rates, account status, claims, billing, policy changes, and benefits as needed to maintain service objectives  

  • Maintains detailed records of insurance transactions with appropriate company database 

  • Sells all product lines 

  • Becomes a product expert for all coverage lines for P&C and L&H 

  • Effectively works with interdependent departments, and outside carriers to efficiently process application submissions

  • Investigates and resolves customer problems and disputes in a timely and efficient manner 

  • Provides a high level of service to CDA members and insurance clients 

  • Conducts outbound calls as necessary to service members 

  • Works well within a cohesive team to achieve department objectives 

  • Supports workflow processing as subject matter expert 

  • Provides lead support for temporary project service teams as assigned  

  • Responds to and handles escalated/complex service issues for all lines of business

  • Cross Sells all appropriate product lines including referrals to Health Care Team 

  • Supports ongoing benchmarks for: 

  • Retention 

  • Controllable Pend Ratio

  • Revenue goals, Sales Pipeline development 

  • New Business Submission goals for all lines of business 

  • Customer response and call monitoring 

  • Accurately tracks all prospect management through appropriate company database

  • Creates and sustains long-term working relationships with valued CDA members, and insurance clients 

  • Conducts consistent follow up with prospective clients both on the phone and via email

  • Interacts with members, clients, and prospective clients at industry tradeshows, and occasional networking events 

  • Participates in pre-arranged marketing campaigns and tracking activities as assigned  

Required Education, Licenses & Experience 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Active P&C license or obtain within 3 months of hire

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the insurance field 

  • Communication: inspiring others and inciting action to achieve organizational goals and desired outcomes; demonstrating expertise and earning respect 

  • Relationship: focusing on meeting needs and exceeding expectations for those served inside and outside the organization 

  • Adaptation skills: appropriately adapting behavior to changing conditions; modifying approach to succeed with new situations and timelines 

  • Problem Solving: Applying analysis, creativity, resilience, and logic to reach optimal outcomes; developing and implementing solutions 

  • Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations 

  • Strong problem-solving skills in response to escalated/complex service issues for all lines of  business 

  • Demonstrated ability to assess needs, present recommendations for coverages and products, and effective at closing sales and other transactions

  • Ability to manage a large volume of inbound and outbound calls, track and document follow up communication, and deliver premier customer service

  • Demonstrated knowledge of P&C and L&H insurance policies and coverages to assess needs and make recommendations on coverage 

  • Ability to operate independently, exercising good judgement and professionalism 

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and attention to detail 

  • Proficient computer skills, including, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

  • Positive attitude, motivated and a passion for helping people 

Preferred Education, Licenses & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field recommended or equivalent experience 

  • Life & Health agent license 

  • Sales or Account Manager experience in the commercial insurance field

  • Frequently maintains a stationary position 

  • Occasionally moves around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.  

  • Occasional overnight travel several times annually at organizational events  

  • Constantly stands and walks when attending organizational events 

  • May be asked to carry items weighted less than 50lbs
