Summary:

Manages programs and events within the Medical Affairs Biopharma department. Interacts with individuals within the department as well as other company personnel and external groups to support technical aspects of Medical Affairs programs management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages and executes programs to improve departmental efficiency and maximize available resources.

  • Works closely with Senior Leadership and Medical Affairs Directors to manage various functions of Medical Affairs programs, including, but not limited to, product launch activities and events, including advisory boards.

  • Contributes to strategic program planning where appropriate.

  • Develops project timelines and manages internal team and external resource progress toward program execution.

  • Manages program information, including, but not limited to, compliance procedures, program budgets, timelines, and reporting, and communicates to key stakeholder groups. 

  • Manages specific projects that support departmental initiatives or work streams. 

  • Coordinates vendor communication, selection, and contracting where appropriate.

  • Manages payments and budget tracking for appropriate Medical Affairs programs.

  • Manages review process for Medical Affairs scientific slides and training materials.

  • Evaluates opportunities for program innovation, continuous improvement, and process enhancements.

  • The Medical Affairs Programs Manager will undertake additional program tasks as needed to support department needs and goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures. Excellent and demonstrated project management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and interact with various internal groups and external vendors.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Teams, and OneDrive 

  • Experience with a VeevaVault PromoMats a plus

  • Experience with Medical Events Planning a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, MPH, or MBA in life sciences, healthcare, or related field.

  • Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.

Equivalency

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and expereince and/or competence may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level required a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, a Associate degree with 6 years of expreience, or a Masters degree with 2 years of experience.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks and stands. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues.
