Role overview:

Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Rome

Activities:

• Partner with Business Product Owners and teams to define the reference strategy and solution evolution, capturing both current and future business needs.

• Ensure a holistic understanding of the IGT reference context, which is crucial for integrating security, compliance, and serviceability measures as well business enabling capabilities.

• Lead development teams by managing budget, activities and ensuring the alignment to the ref strategy.

• Act as technical leaders for implementing changes, coordinating with all supporting organizations in alignment to IGT processes, policies and organizations.

• Contribute to SW Development, Delivery and the continuous improvement of the e-Lotteries Digital channels (sites, msites, mobile APPs) for the Italian Lottery Business (Lotto, Gratta & Vinci), ensuring the alignment to the business needs and to the technology strategic directions.

• Innovate with passion for exploring emerging technologies and integrating them into mobile applications.

• Build reusable assets and solutions using AI, especially in mobile app contests.

• Continuous monitor the quality indicators for the running services identifying opportunity for improvement in service levels.

• Join a multi-disciplinary team including developers, architects, product management and others technology and business unit teams

• Contribute to end-to-end delivery governance, focusing on high quality and timely completion of delivery activities

• Provide active support for troubleshooting, debugging, maintenance and improvement of the existing software landscape.

• Support the evolution of SW technologies, identifying, benchmarking and evaluating the introduction of technology & process innovation for achieve the excellence in SW development and Delivery.

• Act as subject matter expert supporting the evaluation of architecture enriching through the integration of third-party SW Products

Requirements:

• 3+ years of software development experience involving Java, JEE technologies

• Good conceptual understanding of object-oriented programming

• Full-stack Mobile Developer with expertise in both front-end and back-end development

• Experience in project management

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a IT-related field

• Experience with the following technologies: Spring/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, Microservices, Redis, Jboss, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP, Maven, Adobe Experience Manager, Automated Testing

• Cloud computing: Kubernetes, Docker, API Design, Messaging Systems (Kafka, RabbitMq), Network Protocols (Http/Https, TCP, UDP)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git/GitHub/GitHub Actions)

• Experience with Agile development principles

• Capable of working in a team environment

• Good analytical skill set

• Good interpersonal, communication and team relations skills

• Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively

• Strong communications skills in English

Professional Experience/Seniority:

• 3+ years of software development experience

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a IT-related field
