Position Overview:
Innleadair is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and management of mechanical systems for diverse projects across the Midwest. In this role, you will oversee both new construction and renovation projects, ensuring all designs comply with local and national building codes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
- Lead design and development of HVAC and piping systems for commercial and industrial projects.
-Design and layout engineering drawings and diagrams within plumbing specialty, adhering to plumbing codes; includes developing water drainage, hot/cold water lines, riser diagrams, and coordinating site elements (e.g., water lines, meters).
-Complete plumbing calculations, including sanitary waste, water supply, natural gas systems, stormwater, and equipment sizing.
-Knowledge and experience in fire protection design, including sprinkler and fire suppression systems, is highly preferred for this role.
- Perform engineering calculations, including load calculations and system sizing.
-Collaborate with drafters to ensure accurate and complete technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications are produced using AutoCAD, Revit, and other software. While direct CAD experience is a plus, the primary focus is on overseeing and guiding drafting efforts to align with project requirements.
Project Management:
- Oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop project plans covering scope, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (electrical engineers, architects, contractors) to drive project success.
- Monitor project progress, adjust schedules, and manage resources to meet goals.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASHRAE, local building codes).
- Conduct field inspections and provide on-site technical support as needed.
- Review and approve design documents for technical accuracy and feasibility.
- Perform internal audits to assess adherence to quality management systems.
Mentorship & Documentation:
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
- Maintain quality records, including inspection reports, test results, and certifications.
- Conduct project closeout activities, including final reviews, reporting, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
Communication:
- Foster clear communication and active listening to ensure alignment among project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
-Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
-Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, with the ability to obtain licensure in multiple states as needed.
-10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on HVAC design
- Proficiency in Trane Trace 700 and other relevant design software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability practices is a plus.
