Pallet Services Inc Safety Coordinator in Rochester, New York

Overview:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.* Please note that the main location for this position is in Rochester, NY with bi-weekly travel to Clarence, NY location.* Salary commensurate with experience*Responsibilities:- Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, including detailed incident reports- Provide training to employees on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)- Collaborate with management to develop and deliver safety-related training programs- Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills as necessary- Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify potential risks and recommend ergonomic solutions- Promote a culture of safety awareness through regular communication and engagement with employeesQualifications:Strongly preferred:- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA)- Experience in manufacturing environment- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the safety coordinator role or similarOther qualifications:- Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards- Familiarity with workers' compensation laws and processes- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Proficient in report writing and record keeping- Ability to analyze data and identify trends or areas for improvement- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis- CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Minimum Salary: 24.00 Maximum Salary: 28.00 Salary Unit: Hourly
