Production Operator I - GMP/Sanitation - Rochester, NY

NATURE OF WORK:

Cleans and sanitizes production areas in the probiotics building. This includes cleaning rooms to meet GMP standards, cleaning floor drains to keep environmental contaminations down. Will ensure sanitization systems are titrated and materials are ready for production traffic.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Clean and sanitize production areas following production.

  • Ensures the rooms meet site GMP and food safety regulations by removing trash and maintaining the cleanliness of the production areas.

  • Ensures the site’s sanitizations function as designed by preforming titrations and logging/trending the results.

  • Ensures the site’s production traffic flow boot wash systems are stocked and dispensing the correct amount of material.

  • Maintains stock of sanitization chemicals.

  • Effective team player who willingly shares and accepts responsibilities, helps others.

  • Communicates in an open, honest and constructive manner.

  • 100% adherence to all safety practices and quality assurance systems including ISO 9001 and ISO 22000

  • Keeps a positive attitude and works through issues in a constructive manner.

  • Assist operations in media mixes, pre-weigh as time permits.

  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing, as in division of tasks, cross over, e mail, problem resolution, feedback, process documentation.

  • Works in an organized and safe manner to address safety, GMP and housekeeping concerns.

  • Demonstrates high quality and integrity in work.

  • Contributes to continuous improvement through observations, attention to detail and follow through.

  • Acts in compliance with all company policies including, but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Food/Feed Safety, Environmental, GMPs, Dietary Supplements, and HACCP-HARPC

  • Responsible for adherence to all quality systems including ISO 22000 Food Safety, FAMI-QS and NSF Dietary Supplements with an understanding of IFF/Danisco Corporate Quality policies and procedures

  • Responsible to complete training and perform qualified individual tasks according to site’s Food/Feed Safety Plan.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • High School Diploma.

  • Experience cleaning and sanitizing food processing areas a plus.

  • Basic computer skills required: Microsoft excel

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Must be able to effectively prioritize, organize, and plan responsibilities to meet objectives.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to work with a very interactive and self-directed group.

  • Highly motivated and Safety conscious.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Position requires rotational shift schedule of 4 days on (2-12 hour AM shifts then 2-12 hour PM Shifts), and 4 days off; Ability to work overtime.

  • Must be able to handle physical demands of the position including frequent lifting of up to 55 lbs.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with team members

Starting rate: $19.50/hr.
