SUMMARY

The Nurse Leadership Coach is responsible for helping nurse leaders identify their strengths and areas for development, set goals, and create a plan to achieve those goals. The Nurse Leadership coach serves as both a coach and mentor for nurse leaders. The Nurse Leader coach will also be responsible for developing and delivering Leadership Development education specifically targeted for Nurse Leaders. The Nurse Leadership coach is responsible for providing high quality equitable leadership and coaching to nurse leaders at all levels in the organization. This includes developing the knowledge and skills of Nurse Leaders to effectively implement leadership practices and demonstrate growth as an equity-minded nurse leader.

LOCATION: Riedman Campus

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday; Days

ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelors in Nursing preferred.
  • Associates degree in Nursing required
  • At least one year of Nursing or Education experience required
  • Registered in NYS as a licensed registered nurse professional.
  • Nurse Executive certification or Nurse Coach certification required in area of specialty or must be able to attain within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification by American Heart Association required.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership:
  • Provide high quality, equity-focused coaching for nurse leaders across the organization in order to build their capacity to become resilient and effective nurse leaders that use evidence based leadership practices and improvement science to lead.
  • Engage Nurse Leaders in ongoing consultation and coaching that is reflective, responsive, supportive, contextual, and promotes sustainable mindsets, systems, practices, and partnerships.
  • Contribute to the organizational knowledge of the latest trends, practices and state-of- the-art technology as applicable to nursing leadership.
Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment:
  • Spearhead efforts to drive ongoing improvement in nursing practices through data-driven analysis, education, and the implementation of evidence-based practices in nursing leadership.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate nurse leader education and support with other leadership development initiatives.
  • Assist Nurse Leaders in wellness activities and work-life balance activities to assure overall wellness of the nurse leaders throughout the organization.
  • Maintain personal certification and education in order to stay up to date on current practices in healthcare and leadership development.
Communication and Relationship Management:
  • Create strategic coaching plans based on a holistic review of assessment data and nurse leader's self-identified growth goals. Embrace and model an equity-centered approach to systems improvement in nurse leadership.
  • Document coaching interactions effectively within required timelines.
  • Serve as strategic planning and coaching partner to Nurse Leaders.
  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive coaching plan that is compatible with the learning needs of the Nurse Leaders.
  • Develop trusting relationships with Nurse Leaders which contribute to their ongoing growth and development.
  • Develop mentoring relationships with nurse leaders and work to match nurse leaders with appropriate mentors throughout their leadership career.
Business Skills and Principles:
  • Stay abreast of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and industry best practices to ensure nursing services comply with all relevant educational guidelines.
  • Participate in initiatives to maintain and enhance accreditation and certification.
  • Collaborate at the local and system level with other leaders and educators to develop and implement appropriate nurse leader education to enhance efficient and effective operations and delivery of leadership education.
Professionalism:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the nurse leaders both new to Nursing Leadership and seasoned nurse leaders.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including physicians, administrators, and frontline team members, to create a collaborative approach to nursing leadership and education.
  • Communicate effectively with nurse leaders to ensure alignment of growth goals with organizational goals.
  • Support the professional growth and development of Nurse Leaders through mentoring, coaching, and educational opportunities.
  • Provide coaching to assist Nurse Leaders in the development of Executive Presence and ongoing complex leadership skills.
Performance Metrics:
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators related to nursing Leadership, coaching and mentoring.
  • Utilize leadership assessment data to identify leadership educational needs, and success stories in performance related to enhanced education.
  • Collaborate with other nursing educators to design and deliver ongoing education and training ensuring continuous leadership development and competence in nursing leadership.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
