Lead Engineer - Substation, Avangrid Service Company, Rochester, NY: Preparing operating diagram, power one lines for conceptual design library for different types of a substation. Calculating AC loads to design the station service transformer and DC loads to design the battery and battery charger. Developing AC/DC one lines for conceptual design library for a different type of substation. Reviewing general arrangement, elevation views and control house layout for Level 1 conceptual library package. Working as a subject matter expert for circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and instrument transformers. Reviewing standard drawings for circuit breakers and disconnect switches. Preparing bid form for medium voltage GIS integrated module substations. Performing technical bid evaluation and recommending medium voltage GIS integrated module substations RFP. In case of a system emergency, may be required to perform additional storm duty assignments.Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $129,542.28 per year.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field, and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in performing substation engineering.Of the required experience, must have 6 years of experience in each of the following:•Providing project scoping and estimating;•Preparing technical writing and communication related to substation engineering, including AC and DC station service design;•Working with main equipment substation specification;•Applying basic layouts and general substation concepts, including electrical one lines; and•Designing AC/DC and station service.Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:•Performing bus work; and•Conducting electrical Studies, including Insulation Coordination, grounding, and lightning.Of the required experience, must have 4 years of experience in each of the following:•Working with industry codes, standards, and regulations including National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and IEEE standards for substation and main equipment used in electrical substations; and•Designing GIS Station.TO APPLY: Please apply by email at jason.milarii@avangrid.com referencing Job Code: KBGFJG156113-2 With “Attention: Jason Milarii, Executive & Global Recruiter” in the subject line .
