Controls Engineer
The Role As we continue to grow as one, QuidelOrtho we are seeking a results-driven Controls Engineer. This individual will interface with Operations and Maintenance on day-to-day troubleshooting, repairs, and implementation of equipment upgrades. There will be a strong focus on supporting reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) projects in manufacturing. Production equipment includes large batch formulation, lyophilization, semi-automated and fully automated precision liquid filling, capping, labeling, printing, and carton packaging systems. This position is located in Rochester, New York.
The Responsibilities Troubleshoot to find root cause and corrects equipment downtime issues. Manage individual projects, including project management and implementation tasks. Identify preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime and reduce maintenance costs while improving reliability, quality, productivity and safety results. Manage and execute GMP verification and validation documentation as required.
The Individual BS in Engineering (BSEE, BSME) with 3 years work experience or MS with 1 year work experience or equivalent. Experience with automated machinery and related subsystems, including: Mechanical systems Hydraulics and Pneumatics Electrical and Control systems Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) Vision systems Advanced knowledge of PLCs highly desired; ladder logic and diagnostics of machine control highly desired. Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Strong verbal and written communication. Able to provide occasional off-shift support as needs arise. Self-starter able to work independently or with a team.
