Description
We are looking for a skilled Sr. Accountant to join a team near the Rochester, New Hampshire. This role will involve a range of duties in the accounting sector, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reporting. This is a short term contract opportunity, perfect for those with a strong background in accounting and a proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting detailed account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Maintaining and updating the general ledger on a regular basis
• Producing regular reports on financial status and transactions
• Preparing and making journal entries as required
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial tracking
• Conducting month-end close processes in a timely and accurate manner
• Utilizing QuickBooks for financial management and reporting
• Identifying and resolving any discrepancies in financial data
• Collaborating with other team members to optimize accounting procedures.
Requirements
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant, preferably in a similar industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is essential
• Demonstrable knowledge of general ledger functions
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Proficient in preparing journal entries and month-end close procedures
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
• Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles
