Responsibilities
The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension is seeking a Research Fellow trained and interested in MRI and post-processing to join a productive NIHfunded team of investigators developing and implementing novel, clinically-applicable MRI technologies in the Center for Advanced Imaging Research. This individual will continue and refine the lab’s ongoing research projects, develop and apply new structural, functional, and metabolic MR techniques for assessment of renal and cardiac pathophysiology in large and small animal models, as well as in human subjects. The NMR/micro-MRI core facility at Mayo Clinic are equipped with a 1.5 and 3T clinical GE systems, as well as a 7 and 16.4T ultra-high field Bruker spectrometer/imaging units.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
An interest and skills in developing and applying MR techniques to study the function and physiology of the kidney and heart.
A Ph.D. in Medical Physics, Medical Imaging, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or other related engineering fields.
Demonstrated excellence in the field of in vivo MR imaging, as evidenced by work during and/or after Ph.D. studies, and by peer-reviewed publications in leading scientific journals.
Strong knowledge of MRI fundamentals and skill in pulse programming, image processing, and analysis
