The Manager, Procurement will be responsible for the full spectrum of purchasing process including, but not limited to, supplier selection and management, price negotiation, purchase order execution, and delivery reconciliation. The Manager, Procurement will be an essential part of the Production and Supply Chain teams. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborates with all internal departments to understand procurement needs and ensures alignment with production schedules. Works closely with stakeholders outside of the organization, including suppliers of goods and services. Creates and implements procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporates the growing complexities and challenges within the industry. Identifies and evaluates potential new suppliers in the industry to support the growth objectives of the organization. Builds long-term relationships with vendors and critical suppliers in the industry. Negotiates contracts, terms and conditions with suppliers and vendors. Evaluates and manages internal inventory levels, establishes re-supply thresholds in alignment with product lead-times. Utilizes procurement software for supply chain forecasting, streamline supply chain processes and improves efficiency. Regularly monitors procurement costs and identifies areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising on vendor quality and compliance. Develops and implements risk-management procedures to mitigate the risk of product shortages, stock-outs. Manages the effective distribution of work across the team and ensures the backlog of purchase requests meet established targets. Researches and benchmarks current market trends/conditions, developing technologies, supply chain capacity and product knowledge. Evaluates supplier performance through periodic review of key performance metrics (KPI s). Prepares and presents summary reports on vendor performance, cost-reduction initiatives. Assists in goods receipt, inventory check-in and vendor invoice reconciliation. Collaborates with QA department with the initiation of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR s) and vendor responses. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
