Jenoptik Gage Technician in Rochester Hills, Michigan

SUMMARY: The Gage Technician is responsible for the build and validation of Jenoptik measurement systems. The Gage Technician supports the Gageline, Visionline, Waveline, Opticline and Formline product lines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY BE ASSIGNED): • Complete and support pre-validation activities such as mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical build and assembly. • Complete and support gage validation activities including:      o Part / Master Alignment      o Debug of Motions / Configurations      o Validation testing (GR&R, Type I, II, and III studies) • Support internal and customer acceptance runoffs. • Complete and/or support installation at customer site. • Support timely completion of project documentation. • Work area cleanliness and organization.  

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO): • Participate in and support engineering design reviews. • Participate in and support quoting/estimating reviews. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

REQUIREMENTS • Strong root cause analysis skills • Should possess strong basic math skills including algebra and trigonometry • Basic GD&T (Geometric tolerance) • Strong hands on mechanical ability • Basic knowledge of transducers, transducer to PC interface methods, columns, computers • Must be able to read Mechanical, Pneumatic & Electrical blueprints • Ability to travel (25%), including international travel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED • Technical degree preferred • Metrology gaging experience preferred • Understanding of measurement software preferred • At least six months experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
