Consistently considered a top CASA program out of 1,000 programs nationwide, our team takes pride in serving our children with the highest level of excellence and care ABOUT THE POSITION Under the direction of the CASA Recruitment and Outreach Manager and in consultation with the Riverside County Managing Director, the Community Outreach Coordinator will: • Coordinate community outreach activities to recruit new volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop and implement community outreach efforts that promote the CASA Program, as well as the mission and vision of Voices for Children • Assist with the recruitment and screening of applicants to the CASA Program; • Develop and implement outreach plans to support the program’s short and long-term goals. • Raise awareness in the community about the CASA model generally and how VFC has implemented that model locally. This position is based out of a Riverside County office and can allow for some work to be completed remotely contingent on the needs of the operation and other factors including performance. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Essential Criteria • Two (2) years’ experience in volunteer recruitment, community outreach, community organizing, program development, or related field in the public and/or nonprofit sector • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Experience using basic office equipment (e.g. phone, fax, copier). • Proficient with current Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook • Willingness and ability to regularly work evenings and weekends. • Willingness and ability to stay up-to-date regarding best practices related to volunteer management; community outreach and engagement; child welfare; and, diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; • Willingness and ability to serve as an ambassador for VFC and the organization’s mission. • Access to reliable transportation. • Must meet all screening requirements as set down in the California Rules of Court, Rule 5.655. Preferred Criteria • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. • Experience using database systems. • Experience with community outreach specifically within Riverside County • Extensive knowledge of Riverside County • Experience working in the nonprofit or social services sector in inland Southern California. (Inland Empire) • Bilingual English / Spanish COMPENSATION & WORK SCHEDULE Starting Pay Rate for this position is $28.85 per hour ($60,000 annualized) Standard work week is 40 hours; however, employees are expected to work any additional time necessary to meet deadlines and complete assignments. Evenings and weekends may be required. Additional hours are subject to overtime pay. The VFC office is open for business Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Standard work week for this position is 5 days per week / 40 hours per week. Position regularly works evenings, weekends and may work overtime based on operational demands. The VFC office is open for business during the following hours, except on holidays recognized by VFC: Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Coverage at the office by the program and office staff shall be according to such schedule as developed by the President & CEO or designee. Physical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Physical Demands • Able to constantly sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day) if work is limited to remote work only or able to frequently sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 4 hours per day) if not limited to remote work. • Able to constantly sit at a desk and view a computer screen for up to two hours at a time / 7 hours per day if work is limited to remote work or able to frequently sit at a desk and view a computer screen for up to two hours at a time / 4 hours per day if not limited to remote work. • Able to consistently operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. • Able to consistently speak into and use a telephone for long periods of time. • Able to regularly traverse a distance up to 1 mile per day. • Able to regularly lift, carry and load items (e.g. boxes, recruitment materials) weighing up to 25 lbs. • Able to regularly push / pull up to 50 lbs. on wheels or loaded on a cart / truck. Work Environment • Daily travel, including weekends and evenings, throughout Riverside County is required. • Occasional travel to San Diego County is also required. • Professional office environment • Small team environment • Fast paced working with multi-level distractions Special Conditions • Able to regularly work extended hours as needed, including nights, weekends, or holiday weekends during special events. • Able to transport large items (e.g. EZ Ups, tables, chairs) via personal vehicle.
