Description
We are inviting applications for the position of Staff Accountant for an organization situated in Richmond, Virginia. As a Staff Accountant, your role will encompass a broad range of duties including meticulous record keeping, performing accurate reconciliations and contributing to the overall financial stability of the organization. Your knack for problem-solving, affinity for numbers and meticulous attention to detail will be key in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain comprehensive and current financial records, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and laws.
• Conduct thorough examination of budget estimates to ascertain their accuracy, completeness, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
• Provide necessary reports and documentation to auditing teams and implement recommendations to enhance financial practices and processes.
• Develop regular financial statements such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Handle accounts payable and fixed assets.
• Manage employee expense reimbursements.
• Perform reconcilements of company bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Handle positive pay exceptions and serve as a backup for payroll.
• Implement new accounting and finance tools
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in carrying out Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to record and manage Journal Entries
• Experience in handling Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting purposes
• Knowledge of Oracle accounting software
• Experience with QuickBooks for financial management
• Familiarity with SAP accounting software
