Location: Richland, Washington Title: General IT Infrastructure Systems Administrator (P2) Schedule (FT/PT): Regular Full Time Travel Required: No Clearance: Ability to Obtain North Wind Solutions is a Government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The company's focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services. POSITION PURPOSE: In support of the Northwind IT Infrastructure organization, this position will act primarily in the role of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our WSFTP, KiteWorks and Box.com environments along with a secondary role to our Software Distribution application, a centralized software installation site offering of over 675 applications. As a File Transfer Analyst you will step into a critical role to ensure a secure and efficient transfer of data between internal and external environments. Your primary responsibility will address management of the file transfer processes, account request administration, monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues that arise, working closely with our customers and other team members as necessary. We look to have a candidate that possess strong technical knowledge of the WSFTP and Box.com environments along with proven problem-solving skills, as well as insightfulness and progressive thinking to maintain the integrity and security of data during transfer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The selected candidate will be responsible for management of our current internal and external WSFTP server resources, operations, support, and maintenance activities as assigned for continual operations in support of the File Transport Protocol infrastructure. We are currently setting up the KiteWorks environment to replace the WSFTP File Transfer process and will take up to 12 months to ensure a smooth transition. The candidate will work with our customers to ensure account management policies are in place and followed. You will be part of a team that operates on day-to-day activities in support of break-fix, data calls, audits and general support tickets as assigned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Will work with current Software Distribution Subject Matter Expert, learning and understanding the packaging and delivery of application delivery to our End Users. This role be in in a secondary or backup role. Occasional Off Hours and Weekend support may be required to support outages, implementations, updates or upgrades. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Must have minimum 2-3 years of IT server administration experience. Proven experience in managed file transfer or data integration roles. Strong knowledge of file transfer protocols such as FTP, SFTP and HTTP/S. Familiarity with file encryption, decryption, and secure file transfer practices. Understanding of network protocols, firewall configurations, and security concepts. Solid knowledge of networking protocols (SFTP/FTP, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, etc.). Strong understanding of application transport and network infrastructure protocols (DNS, WINS, SSL/TLS, FTP, HTTP and Microsoft Active Directory) and their relationship to user applications. Strong understanding of the administration and day to day support of a the WS_FTP, Kiteworks and Box.com environment or similar technology. Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with Windows Server 2019/2022, TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, Azure and VPN client software Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to file transfer systems.
