This position will handle all external reporting for a well-known public company. SEC reporting experience in public accounting with exposure to banking and capital markets Here is the job description provided to Robert Half by the hiring company: Purpose:You will contribute to this by directing and performing all activities associated with the collection, preparation, quality review, and dissemination of information to the external community of stakeholders and regulatory reporting agencies relating to the company’s overall financial performance, operational performance and progress toward strategic goals.

Accountabilities

  1. Provide timely, accurate and reliable reporting for annual and quarterly SEC filing requirements, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, footnotes and Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD& A); ensure compliance with SEC regulations and US GAAP standards.

  2. Direct the annual audit and quarterly reviews including timely and satisfactorily addressing external auditor informational needs and requests.

  3. Propose, prepare and administer all Corporate driven financial policies and procedures, including maintenance of the Reporting Manual.

  4. Direct accounting activities related to purchase accounting, evaluation of impairment of goodwill and intangibles, accounting for stock option plans, multi-currency conversions and translation, translation gain/loss calculations, defined benefit pension/OPEB accounting and derivatives accounting.

  5. Perform all accounting research in order to update senior management on the impact of changes in US GAAP and accounting regulations.

Key performance indicators: Success in this role will be measured through a balance of qualitative and quantitative performance measures that are aligned to the appropriate balanced scorecard. These will form part of your annual objectives. 1. Demonstrate knowledge of financial statement (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow) data and presentational requirements in accordance with US GAAP. 2. Demonstrate knowledge of collecting, consolidating and accounting for financial results of subsidiaries in an international environment including integrating and analyzing management data from numerous transaction systems. 3. Successfully performing and advising the business on the following: purchase accounting, evaluation of impairment of goodwill and intangibles, accounting for stock option plans, multi-currency conversions and translation, translation gain/loss calculations, defined benefit pension/OPEB accounting and derivatives accounting. 4. Successfully filing all required SEC documents in an accurate and timely manner.
