SOS International LLC Indirect Associate Buyer in Reston, Virginia

Overview

SOSi is seeking an Indirect Associate Buyer to join our team in Reston, VA. The successful candidate with be responsible for supporting the procurement of indirect goods and services, including but not limited to Marketing, BD, HR, IT and Facilities, in accordance with SOSi policies and procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Duties

  • Managing the procurement process from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and requirements, as well as federal government regulations, including, but not limited to FAR/DFARS, Procurement Integrity, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), foreign anti-bribery laws, and import/export regulations.

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide procurement solutions that meet their requirements.

  • Supporting procurement strategies designed to reduce costs, improve product and service quality, and expedite delivery.

  • Optimizing the use of technology to streamline procurement processes.

  • Preparing requests for information (RFIs) and requests for quotes (RFQs) from suppliers.

  • Managing supplier qualification and selection process; evaluating bids and ensuring pre-award source selection requirements are met (supplier suitability, financial stability, etc.); determining the adequacy of source selection documentation supporting an approved purchasing system.

  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and to identify potential improvements in service and cost.

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure they meet contractual obligations.

  • Establishing and monitoring supplier performance metrics; resolving disputes with suppliers.

  • Negotiating terms and conditions, price, quality, and delivery for complex purchases; approving and/or redrafting contract clauses, including flow-downs.

  • Identifying and rectifying areas of financial and/or contractual exposure.

  • Monitoring and controlling requisitioning and ordering of goods and services based on approved purchasing authority levels and budgets.

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure they meet contractual obligations.

  • Administering major and/or complex purchases.

  • Staying abreast of market trends, accounting and auditing standards, and new commercial and federal contracting rules and best practices.

  • Supporting SOSi’s commitment to increase small business participation.

  • Maintaining information in internal databases including SharePoint and the Costpoint financial system.

  • Supporting procurement reporting and data analysis activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum two (2) years of general procurement experience, preferably in a federal procurement environment.

  • Comprehend, analyze, negotiate, and administer complex contracts.

  • Excellent communication (written & oral), interpersonal, and presentation skills, along with strong analytical and project management skills – data-driven and results-oriented.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as preferred experience with Deltek Costpoint.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid office environment (three (3) days minimum in office or as directed by management).

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
