Robert Half Billing Clerk in Rensselaer, Indiana
Description We are providing an opportunity for a meticulous Billing Clerk in Rensselaer, Indiana. The role primarily involves processing invoices, data entry, freight billing, and customer service in the logistics industry. This role allows for the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, offering a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Process and follow up on invoicing in a timely and accurate manner
• Enter sales information into the database and ensure its accuracy
• Assist in resolving invoicing discrepancies to maintain customer satisfaction
• Handle Bill of Lading (BOLs) paperwork as part of logistics operations
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing and resolving inquiries and issues
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites for various billing functions
• Maintain and update customer records, ensuring accurate data entry
• Collaborate with the team to optimize the billing process and improve efficiency
• Regularly review and monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions for delinquent payments. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a billing clerk role or similar financial position
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites
• Demonstrable knowledge of billing functions and procedures
• Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with clients
• Experience in entering invoices and tracking payments
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in finance or related field is a plus.
