GE Aerospace Procurement Sustainability Leader in Remote, New York

Job Description Summary

If you are passionate about sustainability, this is a unique opportunity to join GE Aerospace’s Procurement team as a subject matter expert to create and lead the ESG program and expectations across our supply base and partner with the Sustainability leadership team.

Preference is for this person to sit in Cincinnati. Open to remote consideration but will require monthly travel to Cincinnati.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Influences and embeds sustainability mindset amongst procurement leadership team and suppliers

  • Develops and operationalizes sustainability initiatives across commodity teams and strategic direct material suppliers in reporting GHG emissions and ESG activities to support GEA’s ESG Report and Sustainability disclosures

  • Provides technical and strategic leadership in the areas of: a. GHG accounting, standards, tools and best practices including GHG protocol b. ESG reporting according to major reporting frameworks, disclosures and standards: GRI, ISSB, SASB, TCFD, UNSDG, CDP, DJSI c. ESG data gathering, consolidation, assurance/audit experience is a plus

  • Represents GE Aerospace in Industry Working Groups, including IAEG (International Aerospace Environmental Group)

  • Maintains strong cross-functional collaboration with GE’s sustainability leadership team

  • Develops and shares sustainability performance results, newsletters, and proof points with the business and senior leaders

  • Mentors and coaches team members across the organization to further develop competencies and engagement, developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility

  • Benchmarks best practices and stay abreast of risks and opportunities for GEA associated with ESG trends and developments in the industry

  • Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Sourcing & Sourcing Initiatives, Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) experience) + minimum of 5 years Sourcing & Sourcing Initiatives, Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) experience

The salary range for this position is $126,700 - $200,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
