BluePearl Project Manager - Construction in Remote, Florida

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Represents BluePearl by leading the project team of brokers, contractors, architects, landlords, suppliers, municipal agents, senior & field hospital leadership and hospital associates; establishing good working relationships.

  • Manages, oversees, and coordinates all facets of the pre-construction, bid and award, contracting, construction and closeout phase of all assigned projects.

  • Serves as primary point of authority and accountability for the project(s) assigned requiring the ability to lead, negotiate, influence, and manage a project team, to create a project plan, and to solicit and synthesize input from end-users, leadership, consultants, and other key stakeholders.

  • Develops proposals, delivers presentations to decision-making internal stakeholders and gains consensus on projects.

  • Accountable for managing both the project budget and schedule to meet BluePearl’s qualitative standards; monitors the project budget on a monthly basis and ensure that the budget accurately reflects the project status/progress.

  • Plans, organizes, and prepares reports to upper management with respect to status and/or progress of the projects.

  • Manages daily activities of the contractor, reviews contractors’ construction schedules and submittals.

  • Oversees and maintains relationships with external professionals and consultants. Oversees contractor and supplier performance during construction phase through site visits and regularly scheduled Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) calls.

  • Receives, reviews, and negotiates Contractor Change Order Proposals to achieve a fair and reasonable price; reviews and addresses all schedule impacts in a timely manner.

  • Reviews the processes and pay applications for the contractors, architects, engineers, and any other supplier.

  • Manages the selection, purchasing and coordination of delivery of owner supplied fixtures, furniture, and equipment.

  • Travels to job sites around the United States to meet with critical project members.

  • Assists in the development of hospital design standards.

  • Reviews and understands drawings and specifications regarding the project scope of work.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or related field required.

  • 5+ years relevant job experience required.

  • 2+ years experience in veterinary or similar industry required.

Qualifications

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, prioritization of work, and problem-solving skills.

  • Requires in-depth skills and knowledge of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of specialization.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the specialization as well as business needs to recommend appropriate action.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer station for long periods of time.

  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

  • Environment where pets are present.

  • 35% travel required.
