The Teams Privacy By Design team is at the forefront of cross-organizational initiatives for ensuring that Teams product is consistently compliant in the privacy commitments to our customers. Our team is committed to driving innovation tooling, implementing automation, and leveraging advanced artifical intelligence (AI) solutions to improve the privacy posture of Teams product.

In this role as a Senior Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to dive deep into the services and client stack of Teams product to identify opportunities to close privacy gaps, work closely with other M365 products to build tools that help identify privacy leak patterns across different phases of software development and influence the Teams Engineering organization to develop a privacy mindset. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about solving complex privacy challenges and are able to collaborate across organizational boundaries. Your primary objective will be to mature ongoing Teams privacy programs, streamline privacy processes through automation and tooling, helping the product shift-left and close engineering gaps to protect our customers data.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and integrate industry wide compliant caching solutions to Teams service and clients.

  • Evaluate and integrate organization wide solutions to enhance privacy detection, response, and resolution strategies.

  • Explore and apply progressive AI techniques to improve privacy evaluation processes.  

  • Remain current with emerging privacy and evangelize to Teams engineering organization.  

  • Develop and implement automated workflows to accelerate closing privacy gaps through known privacy issues.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process automation and optimization.  

  • Generate reports and insights to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of privacy tools and processes.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience as a full stack developer.

     Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Ability to drive cross organizational initiative.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment.  

  • Experience inidentifying automation and tooling opportunities to improvise engineering processes.

  • Ability to dive deep into unfamiliar tech stacks and evaluate gaps.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
