The Microsoft Security organization’s mission of making the world a safer place has never been more important. The Customer Experience Engineering (CXE) team within the Microsoft Security organization is at the forefront of this effort, engaging directly with customers, field teams, and partners to drive a data-driven feedback loop to inform product decision-making and continuously improve our products.

The CxE SMC (Small and Mid-market Customer) Team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to improve Microsoft Security products by enabling customers to onboard our products, either by themselves or via Partners. In this role, you will work with many Microsoft teams such as product engineering, marketing, field, other CxE teams, FastTrack, Microsoft Partners and Customers directly to identify technical knowledge gaps, identify market opportunities for upselling and deployment, develop initiatives and playbooks and drive technical readiness efforts to help partners achieve a Security specialization and Security GTM offers. You will synthesize these into actionable execution plans to assist the field to drive revenue growth, adoption and usage, grow insights and customer evidence that product engineering can use for planning and product development.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a partner and customer-focused individual with business acumen and experience in business strategy, product management, program and project management. This role has 3 primary areas of responsibility: 

  1. Help customers realize the value of our products by driving acquisition and usage at scale. As a trusted product advisor, you will enable awareness, acquisition, adoption, and usage of our products by creating repeatable and scalable processes.
  • Develop product and business knowledge to create and maintain technical acquisition, deployment and readiness content, facilitate sales and deployment blocker resolution and partner escalations to successfully enable customers to use our products. 

  • Engage with partners, evangelizing the products you support and help unblock pre-sales and deployment challenges when they arise. 

  • Work with MCAPS Global Partner Solutions (GPS) and product engineering to identify and mitigate product deployment friction through in-product experiences, automation and other delivery channels. 

  • Partner closely with your product engineering peers to understand and continuously evaluate product roadmaps ensuring the partner ecosystem can successfully support our current product releases. 

  1. Continuously improve our products:  Working with your Product Engineering peers, you will use your product knowledge and expertise to influence product vision, strategy, and roadmap. You will do this by learning from customers, partners and our Field teams by collecting product insights and driving those insights into Product Engineering to continuously improve our products.   

  2. Incubate new features and products:  You will help incubate new and exciting features and products with customers to assess scale feasibility. 

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Efficient cross-group and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate business need for detection improvements. 

  • Self-driven and the ability to work autonomously and ability to prioritize across multiple projects.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and experience in building, tracking, and driving large scale programs and projects.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Security products, such as Entra, Intune, Purview, Defender family, and ever evolving Copilot for Security.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, proficient written and spoken communication for both internal and external audiences, and the ability to adapt to your audience (including senior executives). 

  • A strategic mindset and vision to anticipate future demands and competitive needs. 

  • Competent data driven mindset with experience in using data to analyze, identify business problems and opportunities, report execution progress and business health.

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and leading highly visible initiatives/products/projects at scale. 

  • The ability to partner closely with both internal and external customers and partners. A positive and collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to work on cross-group projects. 

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
