Responsibilities
The role involves collaborating closely across executive stakeholders on the Azure leadership team, multiple cross-org leaders as well as software engineering leaders. You are the lynchpin and the owner of the product vision and strategy.
Understand the customer persona – who are we solving for? What are theirneeds?
Understand competitive products – are there other products that compete with your product? What is the unique proposition for this product?
Design product vision and strategy – What will this product deliver?
Drive product requirements definition, product planning and product design (including writing PRDs) of new features and enhancements
Own all stakeholder management - clearly communicate product benefits to our users and internal stakeholders and create feedback loops so that we can iterate effectively.
Partner with the Azure CXP Software Engineering (SWE) leader to ensure that we have a clear plan for feature build and product roadmap stays on track.
Anticipate, identify, and mitigate blockers to customer success goals
Work closely with the Data Science team to ensure we are tracking measurable impact of the product
Share actionable insight, learnings, feedback to drive continuous improvements
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
OR equivalent experience.
6+ years people management experience.
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management
OR software development
OR equivalent experience.
8+ years people management experience.
2+ years of practical experience in AI techniques & tools, as evidenced by prior projects
Functional understand and/or prior hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLM) such as OpenAI and others, Azure AI, Azure Machine Learning (ML) or their equivalent is preferred
Proven success with product strategy and products for Microsoft Azure (internal or external facing)
Experience with enterprise solutions and adeep technical understanding of software and hardware.
People Management Experience leading product management teams if we decide to grow a team under this role as the products expand in scope.
Customer focus and a deep commitment to delivering products that create customer value and delightful experiences
Executive management skills and proven success in driven alignment for strategic priorities.
Ability to think through measurable impact for the business and drive data-driven decision making.
Problem solving and conflict-resolution skills across a set of technical, product, and business challenges
Relationship building capabilities – this role has stakeholders across many organizations
Effective communication skills with a broad range of audiences and ability to influence without authority
Passion for technology, quality and security
Proven presentation and evangelism capabilities.
Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
