Job Purpose:Entertains radio listeners by providing music and commentary; reporting weather, time, and traffic conditions; promoting the show and station.Duties: * Provides radio program of musical selections by announcing selection; playing recording based on program specialty, knowledge of audience tastes, or listening audience requests. * Comments on music and other matters of interest to audience by applying knowledge of music and musical artists; reporting weather, time, or traffic conditions. * Conducts on-air interviews by receiving calls from listeners; responding to their questions; noting their musical requests; playing their requests. * Promotes the radio show by making public appearances; participating in station promotional events. * Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records of show contents. * Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing interview and information-gathering processes; implementing changes. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. * Enhances show and radio station reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Skills/Qualifications:Verbal Communication, Energy Level, Presentation Skills, People Skills, Documentation Skills, Innovation, Promotions, Customer Focus, Phone Skills, Creativity, Dependability
