ManpowerGroup Indirect Procurement Manager in Reading, Pennsylvania

Specific responsibilities include development of category strategies, supplier negotiations, identification, implementation and documentation of cost-saving initiatives.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  1. Design sourcing strategies that improve cost, lead times, working capital, payment terms, and transparency of spend.

  2. Research, identify, select, develop, and manage supplier relationships to provide world-class service and transportation in coordination across multiple businesses.

  3. Establishes and maintains proactive communication with internal stakeholders to identify cost saving opportunities.

  4. Establishes and maintains proactive communication with relevant category managers from other regions to align category strategies and to ensure knowledge sharing.

  5. Researches and identifies capable vendors and initiates selection, qualification, and approval of new vendors in alignment with the Strategic Procurement Process.

  6. Evaluates vendor performance and resolves any supplier issues.

  7. Assist cross-functional teams in defining project scope.

  8. Collects, analyzes, and assures quality and accuracy of the spend analysis where applicable.

  9. Maintains files and communicates non-conformance issues internally and with vendors.

  10. Negotiates spot purchases and agreements.

  11. Educates others on procurement policies and procedures.

  12. Enters, monitors, maintains, and checks compliance purchase orders and contracts.

Additional Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Extensive experience in negotiating road transportation services.

  2. Proven ability in utilizing and leveraging e-sourcing/procurement systems.

  3. Ability to develop best practice sourcing methodology and category strategies.

  4. Excellent teaming, communication, and organizational skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in procurement, supply chain, engineering, business administration, information systems and/or related fields
